Membership InformationIt's fun and easy to become a First Aid Squad member. Our members range in age from 16 year old Cadets to life members in their 60's and 70's.
If you are 16 or 17, you can join our Cadet program. Cadets usually ride as "extra" members of a crew, gaining valuable experience in first aid, patient care, and interpersonal relations. As with all of our members, we require the Cadet to be CPR certified. We also require our Cadets to ride a minimum of 2 calls per month in addition to keeping a "C" grade average or higher in school.
If you are age 18 or over, then you can ride as a Trainee once you have been CPR certified. You will have 1 year to become a certified EMT. Training for EMT certification is paid for by the state to eligible members. Trainees are required to maintain a 5% monthly call average, attend 1 out of three monthly meetings and do 1 hour of clean up per month. Once a member becomes a certified EMT they will be probationary members and must answer 75 calls within a one year period and maintain a 10% monthly call average to attain full membership status.
We provide all training to prospective members who do not already have the necessary certifications. Basic uniforms are also provided for use on first aid calls. Contact mtfas@millstonetwpfas.org for more information, or Click HERE to download an application form. |
